What's going on in LFK?

One of the lead stories in Lawrence.com today is “Lawrence Laundry: Mixing it up with sunglasses this summer” where the writer is “frustrated” about losing her sunglasses.   However, there is a lot going on in Lawrence, and we have the scoop on what’s happening. See article: http://www.lawrence.com/news/2012/may/14/lawrence-laundry-mix-it-sunglasses-summer/

Visit the new music scene “Pass the Hat” at the Percolator today.  It’s a potluck followed by a performance by Bears of Blue River (from Chicago), CS Luxem, and Oils. Read more about this from our friends at the Larryville Chronicles.http://www.larryvillechronicles.blogspot.com/2012/05/lfk-gets-new-music-series-at-percolator.html
At the Arts Center, check out the poetry installation in the front window.  Sit in the couch and chair and pick up the many poetry books that are scattered around (We added a small poem to the wall).
The galleries at the Arts Center are empty as they are getting ready for the Body of Work show.  Mark your calendars for the opening this Friday, the 18th from 7:00-9:00.
Have a beer at the new scenester spot in Lawrence, Frank’s North Star Tavern.

And here is one final thing for our blog today from the archives of art history from 1965.  It is a note from Andy Warhol’s landlord asking him to stop having parties in his legendary factory studio.
